We know the anticipation of waiting for a carefully chosen book to arrive. Every order is personally packed by us to ensure your vintage finds and merchandise arrive safely.

Shipping Methods & Rates

Within the United States

  • We ship via USPS Media Mail for all book orders

  • Media Mail typically takes 3-8 business days for delivery

  • Media Mail rates range from $4.00 to $9.00 based on weight and destination

  • Free shipping on orders of $50 or more

  • Merchandise-only orders may ship via USPS Ground Advantage for faster delivery

Processing Time

In Stock Items: 1-2 business days

  • Most orders ship within 24 hours Monday through Friday

  • Orders placed Friday evening through Sunday will ship Monday

During Busy Seasons: 2-3 business days

  • Summer travel season (Memorial Day - Labor Day)

  • Holiday season (Thanksgiving - New Year's)

We'll always send you a shipping confirmation email with tracking information once your package is on its way.

Delivery & Tracking

Tracking Information

  • You'll receive a tracking number via email once your order ships

  • Track your package directly through USPS.com or the USPS mobile app

  • Media Mail doesn't include signature confirmation unless specifically requested

Delivery Notes

  • Media Mail is delivered to your mailbox or front door (USPS carrier discretion)

  • No signature required for standard orders

  • Please ensure someone is available to receive packages or that you have a secure delivery location

Special Circumstances

Holiday Shipping During November and December, we recommend placing orders by December 15th to ensure delivery before Christmas. Media Mail can be slower during peak shipping season.

Weather Delays Severe weather may occasionally delay shipments. We'll keep you updated if significant delays occur.

Multiple Items

  • All items in your order will ship together when possible

  • If you order both in-stock and pre-order items, your entire order will ship when all items are available

  • Contact us if you need in-stock items shipped immediately

Store Pickup

Available for Local Customers

  • Free pickup available at our Roscoe, NY location

  • Select "Store Pickup" at checkout

  • We'll email you when your order is ready (usually within 24 hours)

  • Store pickup available during regular business hours

What If Something Goes Wrong?

Lost Packages If tracking shows your package as delivered but you haven't received it:

  1. Check with neighbors and around your property

  2. Contact your local post office

  3. Wait 24 hours (sometimes packages are marked delivered early)

  4. Contact us at info@thehoundbooks.com - we'll work with you to resolve the issue

Damaged Packages If your order arrives damaged:

  • Take photos of the packaging and any damaged items

  • Contact us within 48 hours at info@thehoundbooks.com

  • We'll work with you to make it right

Wrong Address

  • Double-check your shipping address before placing your order

  • We can update your address if your order hasn't shipped yet

  • Contact us immediately at info@thehoundbooks.com if you notice an error
